Jonas Blue

From Cereal Box Software to Global Dance Floors

Guy Robin grew up in Essex and taught himself to produce music at the age of twelve using software he won in a cereal box competition — which is either the most British origin story in dance music or the most relatable, depending on who you ask. By his mid-teens he was DJing in local clubs, and by 2015 a tropical house reimagining of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car” with vocalist Dakota had reached number two in the UK and top ten in over twelve countries, launching his career at full speed. The follow-ups came fast: “Perfect Strangers” with JP Cooper, “Mama” with William Singe, “Rise” with Jack & Jack and “Polaroid” with Liam Payne and Lennon Stella — five consecutive hits, five BRIT nominations.

With over ten billion global streams, platinum certifications in more than 20 countries, a BRIT Billion Award and his debut album Blue earning the BRIT Certified Breakthrough Award, Jonas Blue has spent a decade proving that pop instinct and club credibility are not mutually exclusive. In 2019 he launched the Electronic Nature label, and in 2025 his collaboration with Malive, “Edge of Desire” on Defected Records, became his first Beatport number one in the house category — the clearest sign yet that his sound is evolving well beyond the charts.
