The history of Audioriver is inseparably linked to the evolution of electronic music. Each edition reflects its time as trends rise and fall, genres return, and careers are made overnight. Over twenty years, clubs across Poland have opened and closed while cities like Poznań, Warsaw, Kraków and the Tricity competed for attention. Yet there was always one capital of electronic music first Płock, later Łódź.
Audioriver began in 2006 with headliners such as Goldie, Mathew Johnson and Desyn Masiello, during the era when minimal dominated and today’s icons were still emerging. Over the years, the festival gained international recognition including repeated praise from Resident Advisor and nominations for major European festival awards. Artists such as Röyksopp, Trentemøller, Jeff Mills, Amelie Lens, Tale of Us, Underworld, Charlotte de Witte, Sven Väth and many others have shaped its legacy.
As the sound evolved, Audioriver embraced heavier and more modern styles, introducing stages dedicated to contemporary techno and bass music. After selling out multiple editions and outgrowing its original location, the festival moved to Łódź, where it continues to expand with bold spatial and production concepts.
The anniversary edition of Audioriver promises a diverse and powerful experience combining major audiovisual projects, intimate electronic moments set in nature, and high energy performances across techno and drum and bass.
